Hey guys, or no one. I'm not sure that anyone else is reading this blog, aside from my mom. Still, the lack of anyone listening has never stopped me before, so I'll just continue....
We've gotten a few questions after mailing out the invitations, so below you'll find the answers. And of course, if we haven't answered your specific question, feel free to comment below, and we'll get right on that. Probably.
Q: "So uh, where do we stay?"
A: You can happily reserve a room at the Mast Farm Inn, where the ceremony will be held. It's where we are staying as well. And you can book a room using their website or by calling.
Q: "Is there anywhere else to stay? How long is the commute?"
A: The ceremony will take place pretty deep in the mountains. You'll probably want to book a room at the Mast Farm Inn. Although I do think there is another bed and breakfast about 20 minutes away, it's a pretty rural area. Don't expect cabs, or any public transportation options. Charlotte is about 2 or so hours away.
Q: "Did you reserve our rooms/is there a block?"
A: No, you'll have to reserve your own room. Our party is extremely small, so we didn't reserve a block.
Q: "Will there be food?"
A: "Absolutely! We saved our pennies so that dinner and drinks can be served after the ceremony."
Q: "Is ______ invited?"
A: No. But maybe to the party that we'll throw many months after we have tied the knot. We are saving.
Q: "How long are you staying?"
A: We are arriving a few days before to get our license, and to get some things settled, and spend some time. We leave the morning after the ceremony, but of course, you're welcome to hang out in the mountains for as long as you'd like.
Q: "What time does this thing start and end?"
A: The ceremony will begin around 4p, and dinner will be served at 5p. We then will have a gathering space to talk and laugh and just hang out into the night, with a few refreshments. In our minds, we imagine people heading to their rooms in the evening, after 9p or 10p.
Q: "Where are you registered?"
A: We selected things that we love (and most of what we need) and added those items to our amazon wedding registry list. We already cohabitate, so we don't really need a toaster or towels, but we are living in a 'fixer upper' so we have listed what might be considered non-traditional items like exterior door hardware, light fixtures, and a lawn mower. You can find our registry by typing Asante's name (there are loads of Jasmine Johnson's!): Asante Sparks
Did I miss any of your questions? Let us know below. Also, please let us know whether to expect you as soon as possible (and your meal choice), our small party will be greatly influenced by your choice.
We love you,
J
